Density helps determine the type of products you should use and the length of your treatments
Porosity is a measure of how quickly your hair absorbs and releases water. It helps determine what your moisturising and sealing regimen should be .
The thickness of your strands determines the amount and type of products they can absorb .
You will need
1. Your head full of hair .
Look closely at your dry hair (not picked out, combed or style),
see some scalp between the strands? You have low to medium density hair.
If you can’t see your scalp at all, you have high density hair .
You need the following:
1. One clean hair stand in its natural state .
2. A glass of water
Test: Put your hair strand in the water, if it floats indefinitely you have low porosity hair, if it sinks after some time you have medium porosity,
if it sinks right away you have high porosity
Alternative test: Run your finger up and down your strand, if it glides easily in both directions you have low porosity hair
Strand test :
Your need the following:
1. One clean hair stand in its natural state (no dye, no products)
2. One piece of sewing thread .
Test: If your hair strand is thinner than the thread,
you have fine hair, if it is about the same size you have medium hair, if it is thicker,
you have thick hair.
If you need to hold your strand to the light to see it, or can’t feel it between your fingers,
you have fine hair .
